How to Manage Your Amazon Business While Traveling (No Headaches!)

by Becky Trowbridge

Are you dreaming of getting away from it all for awhile? What if you could spend your summer traveling and still make money through your Amazon business? As many sellers have discovered, it’s easier than ever to work while on the go. It just requires a little bit of flexibility, as well as the right tools.

In this post, we'll explore how engagement automation can help you provide high-quality customer service, no matter where you're located.

Work from Anywhere

The world is your office. Field customer inquiries while on a boat or sip a smoothie poolside while sending automated feedback requests. Spend the summer working from a cottage in the south of France while your kids are out of school. Unless you’re dreaming of working from Mars (which may be possible sooner rather than later if Jeff Bezos has anything to say about it), you can work from just about anywhere if you have reliable internet access.

Your office is as mobile as your favorite device or laptop when you have the right team and tools in place. While you may need to spend an hour or so responding to messages and managing your store each day, you can certainly run your business successfully while traveling. If you’re in a different time zone, you may want to make plans to check in near the beginning or end of the working day in your home time zone. Working while traveling does require a certain degree of flexibility, but doing so allows you to maximize your time off and keep your business running profitably.

Are you considering expanding your business to a new country? Maybe you're already selling in an international marketplace. Either way, spending some time in an area that you'd like to serve or from which you'd like to source could lead to big payoffs for your business. After all, there are always cultural differences to be considered. There is perhaps no better way to get a feel for trends and business in a specific area than by visiting and experiencing life as a local.

Build the Right Team

It’s important to have the right team in place to support your daily business operations while you’re on the road. For some sellers, that may mean teaming up with Amazon’s FBA program for order fulfillment. Others may rely on various employees to keep the business operating well back home. Automation tools such as FeedbackFive can also serve as virtual team members, providing you with the information you need at a glance.

Philippe Pierre-Antoine of Savage Sellers loves to travel. He does have concerns about making sure his Amazon FBA store runs smoothly no matter where in the world he is. That's part of the reason he’s a firm believer in automation through tools like FeedbackFive. In a recent Udemy course he created, he shares why he feels so strongly about automation:

“The less work that you’re doing and the more automation that you have allows you not only to correctly monitor situations, but it also allows you to scale up without you being there. There’s only so much that you can do in an hour, in a day, in a week. When you set up automatic campaigns, when you set up automatic feedback requests, when you have automated systems, in effect, the capabilities of your Amazon store will exponentially increase.”

Use the Right Tools

eComEngine’s tools make it easy to manage your business on the go. You can choose to receive text or email alerts for negative or neutral feedback with FeedbackFive, allowing you to provide exceptional customer service as needed. Of course, customizing email campaigns to provide additional information to sellers, request seller feedback and/or ask for product reviews allows you to manage your seller and product reputation with minimal effort no matter where you are located. FeedbackFive’s daily summary email can also keep you in the loop.

Pierre-Antoine speaks from experience:

“Last year I went to Europe for two weeks. I did not put my Amazon account on hold and everything was running smoothly just like I was in the United States. And the reason why is because I have my feedback solicitation campaigns going...and multiple different processes are in place to make sure that everything is running with the same congruency as when I left.”

FeedbackFive allows him to live in the moment and enjoy his travels, because he knows that his store is being monitored while he’s away from his computer.

If you're not already a FeedbackFive user, what are you waiting for?
