Eliana and her husband got started selling on the Amazon marketplace after moving to Israel. Since Hebrew is not Eliana’s first language, she thought it would be challenging to find a job in the country. She also wanted to focus her efforts on work that could be done on her own timeline, allowing her to stay at home with her children.
We recently had a chance to talk to Eliana about her experience using MarketScout for product research. Read on to learn more about her story.
Eliana wasn’t quite sure what to do when she got started as an Amazon seller. She focused on retail arbitrage for the first month or so, but didn’t find it very exciting. Then she worked on getting some wholesale contracts, but found more barriers than she had expected. She currently sources and sells products manufactured by others. She has also recently started working with a white label product.
Researching SKUs from supplier catalogs was a time-consuming but necessary part of Eliana’s Amazon business. She would find herself spending hours manually researching items, trying to determine which products had the best margins. Sometimes it just didn’t seem worthwhile. That’s why she was thrilled to find MarketScout.
"The first time we did it [Amazon product research] on MarketScout and five minutes later it was all done, my husband said, ‘Oh my, this will make our lives much easier!’.”
“We couldn’t believe that we had never known about it [MarketScout] before. It saves us so much work, because I did it all—working through the products and taking each item one by one and pasting into that search bar. It would take hours and weeks to go through catalogs because it’s just too much work,” she said. "The first time we did it on MarketScout and five minutes later it was all done, my husband said, ‘Oh my, this will make our lives much easier!’.”
Eliana and her husband have been selling products on the Amazon marketplace for approximately four years now. Eliana chose to sell in a competitive category, preferring to focus on products that interest her since she spends a lot of time on her business. The MarketScout CSV report allows her to quickly sort product data to make sourcing decisions. She includes the costs of each item in the upload file to get information about potential profit margins. She sorts MarketScout CSVs by seller competition, the item rank, and the projected margin.
Eliana uses MarketScout throughout the year, but most frequently before making purchases prior to the holiday season and in January as she plans for the year ahead. She also uses FeedbackFive for reputation management. We are happy to support sellers like Eliana all over the world!
If you’re spending hours on product research like Eliana, reclaim your time with MarketScout. Check it out today to see how fast and easy it can be to get all of the competitive intelligence you need.
