Since joining the eComEngine team in October 2016, Director of Product Ken Furlong has provided wonderful insight for using Agile and Lean methodologies company-wide. With his passion for continuous improvement, he brings great value to our organization.
We’re excited to announce that Ken will be presenting about performance metrics at the TriAgile conference in Raleigh, North Carolina on March 30th, 2017.
What is Agile?
As a rule-based system that builds from the beginning rather than rushing the results at the end of a project, Agile has become very popular in the software development industry. In fact, the approach has delivered such great results that other niches are starting to adopt the ideology behind Agile.
Agile development breaks work down into regular increments of time, which are called sprints or iterations. Teams work together to make progress during each of these time blocks. They meet regularly to discuss progress, any blocks to work and plans for future efforts. This approach helps create transparency and provides support for team members as they work to produce collaborative results. Companies all over the world, including eComEngine, use Agile processes to manage projects and deliver excellent solutions for their customers.
In his previous work as a senior product manager and director of product management, Ken became interested in finding better solutions to help teams work together effectively. “I first got involved in the Agile and Lean communities while working to improve the business outcomes of software projects. Since then, I have found Agile and Lean to be invaluable in providing customers with what they need and want quickly and with high quality,” Furlong said. He is well-versed in Agile, as well as Lean, Total Quality Management, Systems Thinking and Lean Startup principles and techniques.
The TriAgile conference will be held at the McKimmon Center in Raleigh, North Carolina on March 30th, 2017. This annual one-day event is designed for individuals from all disciplines to come together to share Agile knowledge and experiences.
Furlong will be presenting “Upgrade Your Metrics – Cumulative Flow Diagrams and Beyond.” He said, “My presentation is intended to help teams that have the basics of operating in an Agile environment down and are ready to move to the next level. We explore some of the common metrics-related pitfalls that teams encounter and the preferred solutions to them.” If you’re attending the TriAgile conference, be sure to check it out!
