Ever since Amazon first introduced the Request a Review button in late 2019, sellers have been looking for a scalable way to leverage this functionality. Clicking the Request a Review button, while easier than manually sending review request emails, is still not a viable option for many sellers, especially those with high-volume business models.
FeedbackFive was the first software to successfully automate the official review requests leveraging the Amazon Request a Review system.
That being said, there are several Amazon extensions for Chrome that claim to essentially do the same thing. What's the difference? What are the risks associated with using a Chrome extension for your Amazon business? Why is FeedbackFive a better (and more compliant) option for your Amazon business?
Let's get some answers.
Google Chrome is by far the most widely used web browser on the planet, accounting for more than 63% of the worldwide browser market share. Why do so many people use Chrome? There are many reasons, not the least of which include the Chrome Web Store which offers thousands of extensions. In case you're not an avid Chrome user, an extension is a browser add-on that makes web pages more useful. Although Google offers several dozen of its own extensions, the vast majority are developed and maintained by third-party companies and individual developers.
Sellers may be surprised to learn that there are hundreds of Amazon extensions for Chrome, although many are geared for consumers looking to save money and compare products. That being said, some are specifically created for Amazon sellers.
Unlike FeedbackFive, which enables true integration with Amazon's Request a Review Messaging system, Chrome extensions take a different (and less automated) approach by piggybacking onto your web browser. To make this possible, you'll first have to allow the extension to "read and change" your data on sellercentral.amazon.com.
Once you've given the browser extension total control over your Seller Central account (yikes), you'll notice a few changes. Most notably, you may see a new button (or several buttons) on the "Manage Orders" page in Seller Central. You can then use these buttons to request reviews in fewer clicks (compared to using Amazon's default Request a Review button).
Browser extensions can make a lot of tasks easier and more convenient. However, they have access to an incredible amount of your personal data, sometimes even data that's not related to the task you're performing. Extensions have to request so many permissions from you to perform even the smallest task that it completely erodes most protections that might be present or that you assume are in place.Daniel Longest
Note: With an Amazon seller Chrome extension, you still have to manually click buttons in order to request customer reviews. Chrome extensions may make this process a little easier, but, at the end of the day, you're still clicking buttons (and risking potential changes to your data on Seller Central). Who has time for that? Not you.
FeedbackFive, available through Amazon's Selling Partner Appstore (formerly known as the Marketplace Appstore and Seller Central Partner Network) bypasses the need for browser extensions and extra buttons. Here's how:
True Integration. FeedbackFive works in tandem with Amazon's Request a Review Messaging system, enabling true integration without relying on browser add-ons.
True Automation. As new orders are received, FeedbackFive automatically submits feedback and review requests for you. Messages are automatically translated into the buyer's chosen language and can be scheduled to send within a five to thirty-day window of delivery. With FeedbackFive, you'll never have to click a review request button again.
Works with Any Browser. FeedbackFive works with any web browser (not just Chrome), enabling tens of thousands of Amazon sellers to benefit from our software since 2007—even back when Internet Explorer and Firefox ruled the web!
Secure & Compliant. Security, data protection, and Amazon compliance are top priorities for all the tools we build. And, we're proud to be part of the Amazon Marketplace Developer Council, an invitation-only program for software developers who integrate with Amazon.
I am a long-time happy customer of Feedback Five and very glad that you folks stepped up to the plate with this new Amazon request a review feature. The benefit of your software vs the Chrome extension is the automation and campaign settings (think ASIN exclusions, time of day etc.) as well as your feedback and review reporting. Keep up your great work!
