Despite the rise of automation and in-platform messaging, the humble Amazon feedback email remains one of the most effective tools for boosting reviews and seller credibility when done right.
But here's the kicker:
Only 1–2% of Amazon buyers actually leave a review. Source: WiserNotify
That means if you’re not actively (and correctly) requesting feedback, you’re missing out on valuable social proof and potentially leaving Buy Box shares on the table.
Amazon’s Communication Guidelines are stricter than ever. A single slip-up in your messaging could land you in hot water (or worse, with a suspended account).
🚫 Things You Can’t Do:
Amazon doesn’t play around. Stay compliant, or say goodbye to selling privileges.
Writing an Amazon feedback email that works and plays by the rules isn’t rocket science, it’s strategy.
✅ Keep it short and clear:
"Your recent Amazon order – Quick Feedback Request"
Avoid spammy phrases like “Important!” or “Claim your reward.”
Use “Hello” + buyer’s first name (if allowed by your tool) and include the item name or order ID to jog their memory.
Here’s a friendly (and compliant) format:
We hope you're loving your new [Product Name]! If you have a moment, we'd really appreciate your feedback—it helps other shoppers and supports our small business. You can leave a quick review here: [Link] Thanks again for choosing us! |
Use a tool that automatically inserts order details, suppresses messages to buyers who’ve opted out, and tracks performance.
Here’s one that checks all the compliance boxes:
Hi [First Name], We wanted to quickly follow up on your recent order of [Product Name]. If you’ve got a minute, would you mind sharing your experience with others? Leaving a review helps fellow shoppers and gives us helpful feedback too. Here’s the link to leave a review: [Insert Link] Thanks again for your support! |
✅ No incentives
✅ No manipulation
✅ Clear, customer-first tone
Even one of these could trigger warnings or account flags:
❌ “If you loved it, leave a review!”
This is considered review manipulation.
❌ “We’re a small family business and every 5-star review helps…”
Amazon frowns on emotional appeals.
❌ “Click here for a gift after you leave a review!”
Hard stop. That’s a fast track to suspension.
You don’t need to go it alone. Tools like FeedbackFive have helped automate the feedback request process since 2007 without stepping over any compliance lines.
Only 1–2% of buyers leave reviews. But with the right tools and templates, you can beat that average and boost your seller reputation.
