There are several reasons why SmartPrice may not be making changes to your price right now. Read below to see some causes and solutions.
Cause #1: Your listing is inactive
If your listing is inactive on Amazon, you’re not competing with other offers, and you can’t win the buy box. In this situation, there’s nothing for SmartPrice to do with your listing.
Solution: Fix your listing
Sign in to Seller Central and make sure that your ASIN is in stock and all of the necessary listing details have been entered properly.
Cause #2: Your minimum price is too high
If your competitors’ offers are really strong, the winning price might be lower than your minimum price. Since SmartPrice will never reprice below your minimum price, in these cases, SmartPrice will not submit a reprice.
Solution 1: Lower your minimum price
If you can go lower, enter Editing Mode and type in a lower minimum price in the User-Defined Minimum Price column
Solution 2: Lower your desired margin
If you can go lower, enter Editing Mode and lower either of the following inputs:
- Minimum Profit Margin (Absolute): Enter the desired profit margin of your listed item in the Minimum Profit Margin column in dollars and cents.
- Minimum Profit Margin (Percentage): Enter the desired profit margin of your listed item in the Minimum Profit Margin column as a percentage.
Solution 3: Lower your costs
Finally, if you lower your costs, either supplier cost or one of your user defined costs, you can enter Editing Mode and enter the lower cost.
Cause #3: You’re already winning
If your listing is the winning listing, congratulations! SmartPrice will watch to see if you lose the buy box, but it won’t mess with your winning price.
Solution: Celebrate!
