How can I exclude buyers who have opted out?

Amazon allows buyers to opt out of receiving seller messages and notifies you if a buyer has opted out. Send this opt-out notification to FeedbackFive so your account will not send any more emails to that buyer.

Because Amazon does not provide a way to know in advance who has opted out, FeedbackFive cannot automatically exclude these buyers from solicitations. However, if you send an opt-out notification to the FeedbackFive database, your FeedbackFive account will not send any further emails to that buyer for any order.

There are two ways to add buyers to the database and exclude them from all future emails. Both ways are outlined below so that you can choose the one that is more convenient for you.

1.  Via Seller Central

  • In Seller Central, go to the “Notification Preferences” page located under “Settings” in the top right of the page.
  • Scroll to the “Messaging” section at the bottom of the page and click “Edit.”
  • In the Buyer Opt-out section, click “Add another” and enter optout@mail.feedbackfive.com. Then click "Save".

    NOTE: You may keep optout@mail.feedbackfive.com and remove your email address if you don't wish to receive these notifications moving forward.


2. Via your email client 

In the email client (Gmail, Outlook, etc.) where you receive the opt-out notifications from Amazon, forward the notifications to optout@mail.feedbackfive.com.

To make this easier, most sellers set up a rule or filter to automatically forward the notifications to optout@mail.feedbackfive.com. The rule should only send emails that meet these two conditions:

For the U.S., Canada and U.K. marketplaces:

  1. Were sent from auto-communication@amazon.com
  2. Contain the words "because the buyer has chosen to opt out"

For the India marketplace:

  1. Were sent from auto-communication@amazon.in
  2. Contain the words "because the buyer has chosen to opt out"

For the E.U. marketplaces:


  1. Fromauto-communication@amazon.com
  2. Subject:  Votre message qui était adressé à un acheteur n'a pas pu être transmis
