Why isn't the buyer's name showing in my emails anymore?

Amazon no longer provides the buyer's name to FeedbackFive.

This change is part of Amazon’s efforts to better protect buyers’ Personally Identifiable Information (PII).

As a result, FeedbackFive emails are no longer able to use the buyer name. Old shortcut tags that used to insert the buyer's name -- [[CustomerName]], [[CustomerFirstName]] and [[CustomerLastName]] -- will insert the word “Customer” instead (or the foreign language equivalent depending on marketplace).

We recommend that you review your email templates in case you would like to adjust the salutation. You should also check your subject lines in case they include one of the customer name shortcut tags.

Below are a few recommendations for the salutation:

  • No Salutation at all, simply start with your friendly request. E.g. “Thanks for your order! Would you mind taking a few minutes…”
  • “Hey,” "Hi," or “Hello,”
  • “Dear Amazon Customer,”
  • “Dear Valued Customer,”

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions regarding this change.
