How to Research Thousands of SKUs in an Instant

by Colleen Quattlebaum

How much is your time worth? As the saying goes, time is money - especially in the eCommerce world. That’s why it’s especially important to have a best-in-class toolbox at your disposal to do the hard work for you. MarketScout can compare thousands of SKUs in a matter of minutes, helping you to quickly (and accurately) determine which ASINs are worth stocking.

In this post, we’ll show you how easy it is to streamline your sourcing analysis.

Start With a List of Products

Compile a list of product ASIN, UPC and/or EAN codes to quickly get a snapshot of how the products rank on the Amazon marketplace. With MarketScout, there’s no need to spend hours on the tedious task of researching products. Instead, you can easily see what your competition looks like and get an idea of how a particular product may perform with a report sent directly to your email inbox within minutes of submitting your product codes.

Format Your List for MarketScout

It’s easy to format your list of product codes for MarketScout. The downloadable template makes the process a breeze. When entering your product information, the first row of your file needs to contain the column headings to identify the column information. The actual import data begins on the second row.

The first column of your file should contain your ASIN/UPC/EAN code. If you know the item cost, including it in the second column allows the tool to calculate margins for your report. Save your completed list of product codes as a comma-separated values (CSV) file before uploading it to MarketScout.

Confirm & Go!

You can upload a new batch file to MarketScout for fast product reports. Simply name your batch, select whether the items are new or used, and upload your comma-separated values file. Click upload and MarketScout will take it from there while you work on something else.

Your completed product report will be emailed directly to your inbox. You’ll receive detailed information for each SKU, including:

  • Product sales rank
  • Margin (if you enter cost data)
  • Category
  • Number of FBA sellers
  • Total sellers
  • Unit weight
  • Fulfill cost
  • Lowest price
  • Manufacturer info
  • And much more!

MarketScout allows you to find the detailed information you need to make intelligent decisions about which products to stock.

Peace of Mind for Pennies on the Dollar

Why do the digging yourself when you can put MarketScout to work for you for less than a penny per SKU? Save yourself the time, money and frustration of researching SKUs and get the information you need in minutes. MarketScout frees up your time for other important tasks while providing the detailed research you rely on to make decisions for your eCommerce business.
